Dosch Residence – 2012

A late 1960’s daylight ranch was dowdy, dated, and desperate for a full overhaul.

What was once a floor plan with closed-off rooms, poor lighting, a tiny kitchen, and low ceilings throughout, was transformed into an entertainer’s heaven. We gutted the entire house back to its studs and removed almost all interior walls. We pitched the ceiling opening up the space up to 13’ height and added floor-to-ceiling windows.

The walls were treated to lashings of brilliant white, creating a huge, bright, open-plan environment. A stunning walnut and white lacquer kitchen was designed with the biggest island we have done to date. Furnishings from many decades pull the overall ‘more mod than mid’ feel together. The family of five and two dogs now have views into the stunning back garden, complete with a giant freeform swimming pool and hot tub.

A flood was the perfect opportunity to go to town on this 1960s Daylight Ranch. The project continues. Photos to follow soon.
